Dear Room 202 Students
I’m really interested to know what you are thinking about all these skype connections we are making with different students and classrooms around the world.
Could you please think about these questions and leave a comment on this post.
How do you feel stopping for 5-10 minutes, to skype with a class in other country?
Do you learn anything when we talk to other students from around the world?
Do you use Skype at home to connect with family/friends?
What have you learned about communicating with others using Skype in classroom?
Should we continue to make connections with other classrooms around the world?
Why? / Why not? Please add anything else you feel is important about using Skype in the classroom.
Thank you.
Ms H

I like the idea of stopping for 5-10 minutes to skype with a class in another country because we don’t only get to know more people but we also get to know more facts about the country. I learnt new things when I talk to other countries because of our data questions. I thought the questions really helped me know about their classroom better. I use skype all the time to connect with my friends and family. I usually connect with friends from our class. What I learnt about communicating with other classes using skype is that we must be prepared for the unexpected questions. I think we should continue to make connections with other classes because we can learn a lot of things from it. But when we do connections at home, I just think we should have more people to participate because not a lot of us are right now.

I like stopping for 5-10 minutes to Skype with a class in another school (another country) because we get to know more about their country I use Skype at home to talk usually with my friends I learned that you speak more clearly and loudly. We should communicate more with other schools so we can know that country more. I think we should have more people talk in the conference so everybody can maybe experience new something more often.

I think that it is a very good idea because it is now like we get to skype another class everyday of our lives. We get to learn a lot of interesting facts about themselves.
I actrually learn a lot because i get to know how many different nationatilies there are in the different clases and what sports the like. I use skype a lot at home because i skype my dad a lot when ever he leaves the country and i really like to skpe my friends. I learned that there are a lot of different nationalities in different schools around the world. Yes i think we should keep contacting with other schools because you learn a lot from them.
Also i really think that this helps people in our class to because you finally get a chance to say things about yourself and were you live to other people around the world.

I like the idea of chatting wit another school for five or ten minuets a day because you get to learn about the country that they are in, you get to meet people in that area, and you get to know about the schools there and stuff like that.
When I talk to the kids on skype in our classroom or at my house I learn about the weather there the types of schools there like DODEA or international or maybe private, but The number one thing that I mostly pickup when I am chatting with kids on skype is the type of people there are at that school.
At home I normally use skype to call my grandparents because they live overseas and it would be really rare of them coming to thailand.
What Ive learned about connect with others on skype is that you get really shy when you get up to speak with them because these are people that you have never met before.
I think that we should continue making connections with other schools because you will get to meet more people and learn more about the place that they are at.

Skyping with another class in another country for 5-10 minutes is great because you learn about their school, their way of life, their beliefs, and their culture. I have learned many different things about the topics in the previous sentence.
At home I Skype with my Grandparents in the USA, and my parents have other contacts in their Skype “phonebook.”
I have learned that on Skype calls you have to speak loudly and clearly, so the person on the other end of the line can hear you and understand you.
I think we should keep Skyping with other classrooms around the world because you learn about other people’s experiences and daily lives. Afterwards, you can compare and contrast them with your experiences and life.

I think that this is a wonderfull opertunity for us to get together with dirrerent class rooms around the world and learn about each others culcer. Witch means that I love the idea of sstoping for 5-10 minutes to skype with different classes. I learn: what school they go to, what contry they are from, and lots of other things about them. I’v never conected on skype with my friends in america but I conect with my family in america exapt the skype that we do is we call them with our computer and it calls their real phone not their computer so that means that we can’t use a camara so thats howit is different. I have learned about other contrys, culture, about them, and the location that they are in. Yes because it is a good way to learn about different contrys. it is awesome doing skype!!!

I feel very easy and quick to chat with someone you have never met and it’s really awesome.
I learn about other people’s lives and it’s fun to compare them to mine.
I don’t use Skype at home.
I learned that communicating with other poeple around the world can be very easy and simple.
Yes, we should keep on making connection around the world, because it helps us understand about different parts of the world and their cultures, but mainly because it’s fun

It was exciting because we learned what they do at school and about the fascinating events at the school. Also we got to know their current time, temperature and other important data. I found out that Spype is similar to Yahoo Messenger except you can talk to other people you don’t have on your Yahoo list as a friend. So it is pretty cool for me and others.

I like the idea of taking 5-10 minutes off to skype because it is a fast and easy way to communicate and learn about the other place we are skyping in a short time. I learn the answer to our data question and sometimes even they answer their own data question they are asking us so I normally learn 2 things. I skype with family all the time. I have learned to speak slowly, clearly and loud in skype calls or the other end might not hear you. I think we should keep doing skype calls but a thing we could do to make it better is if the calls had a bit more purpose because right now we arent getting anything really meaningful about the country we skype with.
I think an important thing we need to work on is our audibility because during our last skype call I could barely hear the conversation.

I think stopping for 5-10 minutes to skype with a class in another country is good because we can learn other people’s culture and learn about them.
I learned the time zone and the wether of the other country.
I always use skype at home with friends like Ink or Shania.
We shold continue to skype with other countrys because we can make new friend and can also learn alot from each other and skyping is fun, exiting thing. I wish we will skype often with others.

I like the idea of stopping for 5-10 minutes to skype with a class in another country because I can guess how are they living with their apperances.I learnt What’s the basic rule when we are doing skype don’t speak too fast and loudly and they can hear us.Of course I make calls with my relatives.I don’t know whether we have to make the calls to other classes around the world but I think so we are making the calls to other classes around the world is better

I feel good about 5-10 minutes to skype with a class in another country. Yes ,I learnt how different our countrys really are. I use skype once or twice a year so i don’t use skype a lot. I learnt how far away we live from the class and what it’s like living there. Yes, because we learn more about the way other people live and where they live. I don’t like the idea of skypeing at home because it can take time away from our home work time.

I think that stopping for 5 minutes adds a bit of exitment to school.
I learn that no matter what languges we speak or where we are from, we can still become friends.
I use Skype to connect with my friends in Maui and family in Califoria.
I think we should continue to talk to other classes because it adds exitment into our day.
